General Managers, Agriculture
Saskatchewan (Southwest and Southcentral)
We are currently looking for multiple strategic leaders to join our team in the position of General Manager in the Southwest and Southcentral regions of Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Area Manager, these positions are responsible for the management of teams with responsibilities including commodity procurement, inventory management, logistics, sales, financial budgeting, recruiting and managing staff, health and safety and other tasks as deemed necessary to ensure operations are running to a high standard. The candidates we are seeking must have the ability to provide support, recommendations and operational execution for a variety of existing challenges and opportunities. Excellent critical, strategic and decision-making competencies are a must in order to devise annual budget targets, and to prepare forecasts based on data trends and Profit and Loss Statements.
Key Duties:
- Responsible for overall operations including commodity procurement and shipments, inventory management, and commodity storage.
- Handle the full cycle recruitment cycle including sourcing and screening candidates, participating in interviews, hiring and training of successful candidates.
- Execute sales and marketing tactics while developing new sales channels.
- Oversee the financial decision making, including budgeting, facility cost, and profitability.
- Diversify company market share by producing leads/business opportunities within the industry.
- Demonstrate integrity, market knowledge and professionalism in dealings with farmers, customers, and end users to build customer loyalty and positive working relationships.
- Provide support and recommendations to operational staff.
- Lead and mentor direct reports to keep an engaged work force.
- Ensure company policies are adhered to, providing oversight on disciplinary letters/action.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Success in a leadership capacity, providing mentorship to staff.
- Excellent verbal skills reflected in the ability to foster strong relationships with staff and customers.
- Strong knowledge of agriculture industry (regulations, health and safety, handling, practices).
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma required, post secondary education in a related field considered an asset.
- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in agribusiness industry.
- Minimum of 3-5 years supervisory/management experience.
