Production/Manufacturing Manager
Winnipeg, MB
We are currently seeking a highly dependable, results-oriented professional to join our team as a Production/Manufacturing Manager in Winnipeg, MB, reporting to the General Manager. The successful candidate will be a resourceful leader, capable of managing multiple priorities and a medium sized staff working with dangerous goods & chemicals in a fast-paced environment. This individual will safely and efficiently manage the day-to-day operations of the plant to ensure quality products are being produced to company specifications in a timely manner with a focus on safety and compliance. The ideal candidate is also trained and educated in the area of plant maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the plant and all equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Update, maintain and implement all operating procedures and policies according to applicable legislation and occupational health and safety.
- Manage entire staff to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to all administrative and maintenance operations.
- Execute timely ordering to ensure availability for production & distribution.
- Provide thorough production reports, forecasts & comparison pricing based on industry trends.
- Handle hiring, scheduling and day-to-day employee relations.
- Promote, enforce and monitor Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure safe work environment for all staff and personnel entering/working in the facility.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3+ Years experience in plant/manufacturing operations.
- 2+ Years experience in a supervisory/management or people leadership role preferred.
- Post-secondary diploma in technical field and/or business degree considered an asset.
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on safety, operations and business processes.
- Ability to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges/obstacles.
- Holds a clear understanding of personnel policies, practices, procedures and MB legislation.
- Maintains a high level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills required.
